Job Description

The role holder will support Chief Distribution Officer (CDO) for forming collaboration and innovation to set strategy and initiatives of business process, digital projects, technology and organizational transformation to drive value optimization, efficiency, effectiveness, cost management, data and analytics and other operational functions. The role holder will have key focus on priorities and business vision set by the CDO office. This includes driving / supporting collaboration, change management, innovation and adoption for successful business KPI of various busines channels under Sales & Distribution functions to ensure significant value is achieved at the country level. Collaboration with business channels within the Sales & Distribution functions will be critical to ensure project / initiatives generate positive country level impact and change is supported with adequate capacity and capability. This role will also be required to successfully build credible partnerships across all channels, stakeholders and Information Technology (IT) to achieve intended value propositions of strategic initiatives.

The scope of this role is broad, cross functional and throughout all levels within the sales & distribution function of the organization and required to define priority opportunities with high level of business impact within manageable levels of Sales & Distribution that generates an optimal return.

The role holder will be required to quickly understand the depth and breadth of internal functions and processes but also scan external ecosystems to identify current technology, resources or vendors that are viable partners to compliment, innovate and add value to strategic initiatives.

The role holder mandate and initiatives does include supporting program planning, management or execution of program. The role holder works in close coordination with programs to ensure that team participating in the program have the rights tools, business processes and support available at the right time and place to be able to do their jobs effectively with minimal, efficient with other business functions, e.g. finance, IT, HR, Strategy, etc.

The role holder will drive program and project management from CDO office for initiatives developing strategic plans, assembling cross functional resourcing, engaging with teams /channels as necessary, managing communications and change management plans, building complex project plans and executing with low cost, efficiency and high adoption and success.

The role holder will have direct line accountability to the Chief Distribution Officer and work within the CDO’s senior management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create value for the CDO office by supporting complex programs/projects by driving internal transformation efforts / strategic initiatives (cost optimization, growth strategy, etc.)
  • Support the CDO office to drive the programs - design & delivery including focus on change management, right from building the case to delivering the outcomes, enabling achievement of strategic goals of the organization.
  • Developing and enhancing relationships with key stakeholders, understand the business and navigate within the Sales & Distribution (S&D) functions & organization to drive programs effectively.
  • Bringing diverse and thought-provoking perspectives and point of view to explore solutions working with the team
  • Exploring trends and new, innovative ideas that will positively impact, in addition to the existing practices/processes followed within S&D.
  • Perform rapid assessment of current projects within the portfolio and develop/execute change management strategy, accelerating the outcomes and managing change effectively.
  • Being prepared to speak credibly and confidently about process & technology and ability to identify opportunities to solve business issues.
  • Contribute towards building the capability for the function to efficiently & effectively manage the programs and coach colleagues who are managing programs/projects to effectively embed change management
  • Ensure standardization in project/change management practices adopted and align them to organization goals.
  • Ability to identify and measure benefits and define KPIs relevant for the functions.
  • Host Steer Co and drive discussions/decisions working with the project leader/sponsor
  • Develop and manage knowledge repository for use across internal projects and communities.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Understanding of standard project methodologies and change interventions during various phases - project design & initiation, current state analysis, future state design, process design, implementation and project transition/close.
  • Good understanding of IT, Finance, Sales and transformations in general.
  • Excellent skills with power point and storytelling approach.
  • Ability to work and team with a multitude of different people and different cultures.
  • Good analytical, judgment, tact and decision-making ability along with critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.

  • Strong facilitation skills with senior stakeholders in driving decisions and consensus.
  • Ability to travel and conduct multi time zone meetings outside of local business hours, when needed.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 12+ Years of relevant consulting/execution experience with at least 6+ Years of independently leading transformation programs with specific focus on change management in projects of varying scale
  • Management of senior stakeholder relationships at CXO, Partner or Functional Head level.
  • Experience in one of the domains – Corporate strategy, Finance or Technology and general understanding of these functions.
  • Awareness / experience of leveraging technology as enablers.
  • Ability to guide, lead and coach client leadership / project teams across the lifecycle of complex programs and strategic initiatives.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in Big4 or Global Management Consultancy is desirable
  • Experience of working in professional services industry will have an edge
  • MBA OR equivalent education
