Job Description
Responsibilities:
  • Design stable, reliable and effective databases
  • Optimize and maintain applications
  • Modify databases according to requests and perform tests
  • Sole database usage issues and malfunctions
  • Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices
  • Gather user requirements and identify new features
  • Maintain database schemas
  • Provide data management support to users
  • Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements
  • Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols
  • Write optimized stored procedures and efficient SQL queries
  • Provide required reports to the team
  • Develop reporting framework and provide frequently used reports
  • Backup and restore databases
 
Key Requirements:
 
  • Expert knowledge & experience with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL
  • Awareness on principles of database replication, scalability, and high availability
  • Must have strong experience on developing stored procedures and SQL queries
  • Ability to identify database performance issues and proactively intervene to reduce downtime.
  • Implement and maintain best practices in developing databases
  • Good communication skills with positive attitude, problem solving skills, multi-tasking and self-initiative qualities
  • Experience with at least one major public cloud implementation (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
  • Prior knowledge and experience on other database platforms is a plus ( MySQL, Redis)
